Copyright and Licensing

The International Journal of Management Research (IJMR) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to protecting authors’ intellectual property while promoting the lawful sharing and reuse of scholarly research.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright of their articles published in IJMR. By submitting and publishing a manuscript, the authors grant the journal the right of first publication and permission to publish, distribute, archive, index, reproduce, and make the article publicly available in print and electronic formats.

The publication of an article in IJMR does not transfer copyright ownership from the author to the journal.

Licensing Terms

Unless otherwise stated, articles published in IJMR are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this licence, readers and other users may:

  • Read, download, copy, print, share, and distribute the article
  • Reproduce the work in any medium or format
  • Adapt, translate, or build upon the published work
  • Use the content for academic, educational, or commercial purposes

These uses are permitted provided that:

  • Appropriate credit is given to the original author or authors
  • The original publication in IJMR is properly cited
  • A reference to the applicable Creative Commons licence is provided
  • Any changes made to the original work are clearly indicated
  • The work is not presented in a way that misrepresents the authors or the journal

Author Rights

Authors retain the right to:

  • Use their published article in teaching and academic presentations
  • Include the article in a thesis or dissertation
  • Reuse parts of the article in future scholarly work with proper citation
  • Deposit the article in an institutional or subject repository
  • Share the published article through personal academic websites and scholarly networks
  • Provide copies of the article to students, researchers, and colleagues

Journal Publishing Rights

By publishing an article in IJMR, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive licence to:

  • Publish the accepted article
  • Identify IJMR as the original place of publication
  • Distribute the article through the journal website and indexing services
  • Preserve the article in digital archives and repositories
  • Convert the article into formats required for accessibility, preservation, or indexing
  • Include the article and its metadata in journal issues, databases, and scholarly platforms

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscript is original and does not unlawfully reproduce copyrighted material belonging to another person or organization.

Authors must obtain written permission to reproduce any copyrighted:

  • Figures
  • Tables
  • Photographs
  • Illustrations
  • Questionnaires
  • Research instruments
  • Extensive quotations
  • Data or supplementary materials

Evidence of permission may be requested by the editorial office before publication.

Third-Party Material

The Creative Commons licence applied to an article may not automatically cover third-party content included in the article. Any material that is excluded from the licence should be clearly identified through an appropriate copyright notice or credit line.

Users who wish to reuse excluded third-party material must obtain permission directly from the relevant copyright holder.

Author Self-Archiving

IJMR permits authors to archive and share their published articles through:

  • Institutional repositories
  • Subject-based repositories
  • Personal academic websites
  • University profiles
  • Research-sharing platforms
  • Funding-agency repositories

Authors should provide the complete citation, journal title, publication details, and a link to the official published version whenever possible.

Moral Rights

Authors retain their moral rights, including the right to be properly identified as the creators of their work and the right to object to any misleading, distorted, or inappropriate use of the published article.

Copyright Infringement

IJMR respects intellectual property rights and investigates credible allegations of copyright infringement. When unauthorized or infringing material is identified, the journal may correct, remove, withdraw, or retract the affected content in accordance with its editorial and publication-ethics procedures.
