Abstract

The objective of the current research is to investigate the connections between high potential talent management (HPTM) and employee performance while considering the mediation effects of engagement and innovation. The target population will comprise 540 teachers working at private colleges in Sindh, Pakistan. Three theoretical perspectives namely social exchange theory, ability-motivation-opportunity model, and resource-based view have been utilized to formulate a hypothesis that HPTM enhances the performance of employees. Employee engagement is to play the role of a mediator through which talent management influences engagement and commitment of the employees while innovation is going to be another mediator because of which high potential teachers are able to translate their knowledge and skills into better performance. The quantitative research design has been chosen for the current study. Questionnaires will be used as data collection tools while descriptive statistics, correlation, regression and structural equation modeling will be employed for the analysis of data. The proposed model will contribute to the existing literature of higher education regarding the connection of HPTM, engagement, innovation, and employee performance.
